The City of North Charleston Parks and Recreation Department has a wide variety of Parks, Green Space, Community Centers, Playground and Athletic Facility.

Athletic Facilities Community Centers

Armory Park – 500 Lackawanna Blvd.

Facility Features: Playground & Community Center Building

Charleston Farms Community Center – 1633 Sumner Ave

Facility Features: Playground, picnic shelter, Charleston Farms Community Garden, and Keep North Charleston Farms office & volunteer programs.

Chicora-Cherokee Community Park – 3107 North Carolina Ave.

The Chicora-Cherokee Community Park is a 2,300-square-foot playground located at 3107 North Carolina Avenue, and while there will be some parking available, it is intended to serve the immediate area with most visitors walking there. The property for the park was purchased with Charleston County Greenbelt Funds

Collins Park – 4155 Fellowship Rd.

Facility Features: Seasonal Outdoor Pool (please visit Aquatics for information), Gary McJunkin Community Center, Baseball field complex, tennis courts, pickleball courts, playground, Edward A. McClain outdoor basketball courts.

Creative Arts/OTP Park – 5100 Lackawanna Blvd.

Facility Features: Playground featuring some inclusive pieces

Danny Jones – 1455 Monitor St.

Ingevity-Westrock Park – 1240 Remount Rd.

Ingevity-Westrock has been a public green space with recreational facilities since 1949. Residents of the City of North Charleston, the City of Hanahan, as well as other municipalities have enjoyed the park’s baseball diamonds, playgrounds and shelter facilities.

Midland Park Community Center – 2429 Midland Park Rd.

Pepperhill Park hosts youth athletics, including baseball, softball, and football.

Perry Webb Community Center – 3200 Appleton St.

Persephone-Moultrie Community Center – 2001 Robertson Blvd

Quarterman Park – 2001 Robertson Blvd

Quarterman Park, better know to area residents as the Duck Pond, is a passive park and home to many flocks of ducks, geese, and other avian wildlife.  Residents are often seen fishing in the pond or feeding the birds.  The park is a short walk to the Olde Village Business District and many great, local restaurants and shops.

River Oaks – 8642 River Oaks Dr.

Riverfront Park – 1061 Everglades Ave

Riverfront Park is open to the public year-round and has become a favorite destination for residents and visitors. Set on the banks of the beautiful Cooper River, the park is adjacent to the historic homes once occupied by the Charleston Naval Base officers, surrounded by graceful grand oak trees and peaceful river vistas. Wescott Park, the Lowcountry’s premier baseball and softball facility, featuring a Ripken Training Facility.
