North Charleston Recreation Department offers a wonderful selection of Children’s Programs available to the community.

Some programs require a registration application and registration fee while others may not. Please note this listed under each program. CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED AT REGISTRATION; only checks, money orders or cashier checks.

HARVEST FESTIVAL 2022 – Saturday, October 22nd



AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM 

Ages: 5–12
Registration Fee: FREE (Pre-registration required)
Location(s): Felix Pinckney, Gethsemani and Northwoods Park

The North Charleston after school program is designed to keep your child motivated and active after school while providing quality supervision and guidance.

We focus on academic enrichment and recreational activities designed to teach your child valuable leadership and life skills they can use in their everyday decision making processes.

Commitment, responsibility, socialization, creativity and physical activity are the key components of the program which ensures that children are on track to become productive citizens of society.

CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL

Date: Tentatively – May 5th • 9:00am-1:00pm
Ages: Pre-school-2nd grade
Registration: Begins January 14
Registration fee: Free
Location(s): Park Circle

Held on the first Friday in May from 9:00 am-1:00 pm, the Children’s Festival is a major part of the annual North Charleston Arts Festival. Children are encouraged to dress in weather appropriate, comfortable clothes as activities will be held outdoors.

WINTER WONDERLAND

Date: Tentatively – November 30th • 9:00am-2:00pm
Ages: Pre-school-2nd grade
Registration: Month of October
Registration fee: Free
Location(s): North Charleston Convention Center

Children are invited to come enter the North Pole to visit Santa Claus. Santa’s elves are on hand to lead children through several fun stops including a music room, arts and crafts, dancing and more. The children will also have a chance to see Santa and take a group Christmas photo.
