Christmas Festival & Parade

To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, the City of North Charleston will feature the following public Christmas events.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Friday, December 1, 6:00pm, on the front lawn of the Felix C. Davis Community Center at 4800 Park Circle. Join the Mayor for the lighting of the new 40' Christmas Tree, then take a stroll around the Circle to enjoy the rest of the beautiful tree and light displays. Roti Rolls and Charleston Festival Foods will be on site with tasty dinner options and the marshmallow roasting pit will be lit.


Christmas Festival and Parade

Saturday, December 2, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the Felix C. Davis Community Center with the Christmas Parade beginning at 5:00 pm. The Christmas Festival includes children’s activities, food vendors, live music, and visits with Santa. The Christmas Parade begins at the corner of East Montague and Mixson Avenues, proceeds down East Montague Avenue, around Park Circle, and back down East Montague to conclude.


Christmas Festival Schedule

2:00 pm - Police will close the Park Circle traffic circle to vehicular traffic
2:30pm - Polie will close East Montague Avenue from Mixson to the traffic circle, and Mixson and Lackawanna to West Enterprise to vehicular traffic
3:00 - 4:45 pm - Children’s activities (jump castles, petting zoo, hay rides)
3:00 - 5:00pm - Live instrumental music by Wayne Daws in the Felix Davis lobby
3:00 - 5:15 pm - DJ Moo Moo on outdoor amphitheater stage
5:00 - 6:30 pm - Parade
6:00 - 8:00pm - Live instrumental music by Wayne Daws in the Felix Davis lobby
6:15 - 8:00 pm - The Zandrina Dunning Experience on outdoor amphitheater stage
6:30 - 8:00 pm - Children’s activities (jump castles, petting zoo, hay rides)
6:30 - 8:00 pm - visit with Santa (indoor Auditorium)
8:00 pm - Roads opens to traffic

The Charleston Caroling Company will be roving throughout the community center grounds in Victorian dress performing carols for festival goers.

Visits with Santa will take place in the Felix Davis Auditorium following the parade until the end of the festival.

Winter Wonderland

Wednesday, November 29 - Friday, December 1, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at Armory Park. This free pre-school event provides young children an opportunity to visit Santa, participate in hands-on activities, including holiday arts & crafts, and take part in live performances and music. A group photo will be provided.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 2, from 8:00am to 10:00am at Felix C. Davis Community Center. Breakfast with Santa gives area children the opportunity to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. A hearty meal is provided.

Children’s Theatre

Hans Brinker and the Quick-Silver Rocket Skates presented by Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth

Wednesday, December 6, 2017, 10:00am - 11:00am  

This musical version of the classic children’s story, set in the future, follows Hans as he uses his engineering ingenuity to invent Rocket Skates to beat the clock and help his ailing mother.  Songs like “Make The Connection” inspire audiences to find their own direction and become creative thinkers.  This show is perfect for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) initiatives.  Don Gruel & Noel Holland of Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth have been touring throughout the U.S. since 1995, giving hundreds of performances for more than 70,000 audience members annually.  Performance best for grades K-8. A socialite's holiday party hits the skids when her cherished Maltese, Fruitcake, is stolen. All clues point to a certain Jolly Old Soul who’s sure to take the rap — until his old friend Inspector NoClue discovers that invited guests include members of the local chapter of the N.L.A ... Naughty List Anonymous! Featuring roles for volunteer audience actors and pre-show caroling, it’s the night Inspector NoClue almost saved Christmas!
