To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, the City of North Charleston will feature the following public Christmas events.

Christmas Tree Lighting

Friday, November 30, 2018, 6:00pm, on the front lawn of the Felix C. Davis Community Center at 4800 Park Circle. Join the Mayor for the lighting of the 40′ Christmas Tree, then take a stroll around the Circle to enjoy the rest of the beautiful tree and light displays.

Christmas Parade


NEW DATE: Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Felix C. Davis Community Center with the Christmas Parade beginning at 5:00 pm.  The Christmas Parade* begins at the corner of East Montague and Mixson Avenues, proceeds down East Montague Avenue, around Park Circle, and back down East Montague to conclude.

FREE admission, FREE parking. Ample parking is available on the islands around Park Circle. Rain or shine.

*The application to participate in the 2018 Christmas Parade is available by clicking the blue button below. The deadline to apply is 5:00pm on November 1, 2018.
Note that the 70 available spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis so apply early!

The applications to participate as a food vendor or in the Holiday Art & Craft Market at the 2018 Christmas Festival are available by clicking the blue buttons below.
The deadline to apply is 5:00pm on November 16, 2018.
Spaces are limited and curated by the Christmas Festival Committee. Past participation does not guarantee acceptance into this year’s festivities.

Winter Wonderland

Wednesday, November 28, 2018, 9:00am to 2:00pm at the Charleston Area Convention Center. This free pre-school event provides young children an opportunity to visit Santa, participate in hands-on activities, including holiday arts & crafts, and take part in live performances and music. A group photo will be provided.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 1, from 8:00am to 10:00am at Felix C. Davis Community Center. Breakfast with Santa gives area children the opportunity to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. A hearty meal is provided.

Junie B. Jones is Not a Crook  presented by Georgia Ensemble Theatre

This play by Allison Gregory is based on the beloved Junie B. Jones book series by Barbara Park. Someone took Junie B.’s new black furry mittens, and they didn’t even put them in the Lost and Found! Also, the new boy in school thinks Junie B. is a nutball just because she was laughing at recess! Junie B. is on a mission to prove she’s not a nutball, avenge her black furry mittens, and maybe get a great new colorful pen, too.  Georgia Ensemble Theatre is an award-winning professional theatre company producing musicals, comedies, dramas, and first class educational opportunities for more than 25 years.  The company is the resident professional theatre at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center and has earned a reputation for the quality and diversity of its plays. Dylan Thomas’ Christmas in Wales presented by Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina

This enchanting musical production is based on famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas’ 1955 beloved radio story A Child’s Christmas in Wales.  The show shares Thomas’ memories of an old fashioned Christmas, from snow ball fights, delights of opening presents and singing carols, to some wild adventures in the village. The highly acclaimed and engaging Christmas memoir is full of humorous and poignant anecdotes of long ago woven together with classical music. Starring Broadway and film veteran actor, Clarence Felder, as Dylan Thomas, supported by musicians from Chamber Music Charleston.
