Flowerscape Program
Flowerscape is a beautification program that was iniated by KNCB in 2007 to add plantings in highly visible locations where a large number of people would enjoy their beauty.  This program relies on the successful partnership of local community groups, businesses, the City of North Charleston, and Keep North Charleston Beautiful.  Find out more about Flowerscape here.

Park Beautification
Keep North Charleston Beautiful volunteers work with the City of North Charleston to beautify City parks.  To date, we have completed planting projects at Quarterman Park, Collins Park, and Park Circle.

One of these planting projects includes the Park Circle Butterfly Garden.  This garden is used as an educational garden for students and the community.  Schools can schedule a field trip by calling 745-1028.

Clean Cities Sweep
Thousands of volunteers participate each year by planning a cleanup and/or beautification event in their community.  Groups that register to participate are eligible for contests and prizes, free project supplies, and a Clean Cities Sweep planning kit.  To register or find out more information, visit the Clean Cities Sweep page on our website.

Community Cleanups & Beautification Events
Have a community cleanup or beautification event on your own!  We will help you with your cleanup or beautification project by offering trash bags and gloves and suggestions on having a safe and successful cleanup event.  We will provide enough supplies for a group with up to 100 volunteers to hold on cleanup event one time per year.

Recycling Program
Become a recycling partner and help us raise funds!  We are now recycling cell phones, mp3 players, inkjet cartridges, and laptops!  Simply drop off the items at our office in North Charleston.  For more information on how to become a recycling partner, click here.

Electronics Recycling

KNCB is dedicated to beautifying the North Charleston community. Accordingly, we have joined Funding Factory in a 'green' initiative to help keep electronics and supplies out of our local landfill while raising funds for our organization. These funds will be used to educate youth on the importance of environmental stewardship, to plant flowers and trees, and to clean litter from our community.

We need your help to make this program a success. There is a minimum time requirement and no monetary fee to participate.

The Funding Factory electronics recycling program is for small electronics (printer cartridges, laser cartridges, iPods, digital cameras, laptops, etc.).  You collect old and used items for recycling (you can set up a public drop-off box or just collect them internally), download a prepaid shipping label, box them up, and send them to Funding Factory periodically.  They have a list of acceptable items on their website, but they will also sort through them for you and dispose of anything not accepted.

If you would like to register as a KNCB supporter, visit this website and enter our nonprofit ID (272689) in the yellow box.

Shortly after you register, a welcome kit will be sent in the mail with prepaid mailing labels and everything you need to get the program started. You will also have an online account to run the program from.

More information about the program can be found here.
