BUTTERFLY GARDENS

Butterfly Gardens are maintained by volunteer groups or landscape companies.

The Butterfly Garden at Northwoods

This garden is located at 8348 Greenridge Road.  The butterfly garden welcomes you as you enter the Northwoods Park Community Center and is home to many caterpillars and butterflies.  In addition to the butterfly garden, the lake-side community center offers a playground, picnic tables, swimming pool, and a gym.  The garden was installed on Earth Day 2015 by youth in the center’s 4-H program.

Sponsors: The BEEs

This garden is currently in need of two Flowerscape sponsors.

The Butterfly Garden at Park Circle

The Butterfly Garden at Park Circle is conveniently located on the grounds of the Felix C. Davis Community Center in the center of Park Circle in North Charleston.  This garden is home to more than 75 different plants that attract butterflies.  There are several picnic tables and benches to enjoy lunch or just take a break.  This garden serves as an educational garden for the community to learn about the types of plants that thrive in the area.  Additionally, Keep North Charleston Beautiful offers field trips to preschool students during the month of September.

Sponsors: Cooper Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, Joint Base Charleston 1st Combat Camera Squadron, and NHCC DOCS

This garden is currently in need of four additional Flowerscape sponsors.
