Charleston County and the City of North Charleston receive federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funding received from HUD may be used for a variety of housing and community development projects that benefit low-to-moderate income (LMI) households or individuals in our community.
Every five years, Charleston County prepares a Consolidated Plan which identifies and prioritizes the community needs for improving housing, community programs, homelessness services, and infrastructure. Once the assessment is complete and approved by HUD, quantifiable goals are set and future funds will be largely invested to address these needs over the next five years. This survey is one of many tools used to gather public opinion on how staff will use the community feedback along with research to provide HUD a detailed needs assessment.
The survey is open through October 9, 2015.
