The purpose of the public meeting is to offer information on the project’s development process, outline the criteria used to evaluate the proposed alternatives, gather public comments, and provide next steps. Charleston County will accept public comments until February 11, 2022. Residents can submit comments via the project website through the public information meeting page, or by emailing the project team at [email protected].

Charleston County is looking at various alternatives to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety and connectivity between North Charleston and West Ashley. The proposed project consists of constructing a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the Ashley River and a new shared-use path connecting the bridge to Azalea Drive in North Charleston.
