Paper bags only for small yard waste collection beginning July 1

Beginning July 1, 2015, the City of North Charleston will no longer collect small yard waste in plastic bags for disposal.  Yard waste be placed in paper bags for curbside pickup.

Small yard waste generally includes, grass clippings and leaves.  Logs, limbs, brush, and stumps will continue to be collected if piled curbside.  However, large yard material and bagged yard waste must be placed in separate piles.

Logs, limbs, brush, and stumps are limited to four feet in length and six inches in diameter for collection.

Leaves and grass clippings are collected weekly on the same day as garbage is picked up in roll-carts.

All residents will receive additional notifications to be placed on roll-carts over the coming weeks.
