Officers awarded for getting illegal guns off streets

Please join us in congratulating three of our officers for being awarded Certificates of Recognition.
During the month of September Capt. Rick Keys’ proactive approach to curb criminal activity and traffic violations resulted in the seizure of one illegally possessed or unlawfully carried firearm. The gun was recovered from University Blvd. from a driver seen doing ‘burn outs’ and ‘doughnuts’ in the middle of the road.
During September Pfc. Jordan Williamson’s proactive approach to curb violent criminal activity in the city resulted in the seizure of eight illegally possessed or unlawfully carried firearms. The guns were recovered from around and within communities and business districts including Forest Hills 2, Wescott Plantation, Northwoods Mall, Oak Terrace Preserve, I-26, Dorchester Terrace and Russelldale.
Also during September, Pfc. Desmond McFadden’s proactive approach to curb violent criminal activity in the city resulted in the seizure of two illegally possessed or carried firearms. The guns were recovered within communities and business districts including I-26 and Northwoods Blvd.
