Officer honored for saving two-year old girl

Please join our agency in congratulating Pfc. Jason Marzan, who’s the recipient of the Employee of the Month and Lifesaving Award for October.
On October 10, Officer Marzan responded to a vehicle collision on an I-26 exit ramp. He learned that a two-year-old girl had been ejected from a vehicle and that the child’s right arm had been completely severed from her body.
Pfc. Marzan applied a tourniquet which stopped the bleeding. He collected the severed limb and helped EMS with first aid before the child was taken to the hospital.
The girl’s arm was successfully reattached. it’s believed she may possibly regain full use of the arm after a long recovery.
