North Charleston receives state funds to bolster tourism

The City of North Charleston has been awarded its 1st ever South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism – Tourism Advertising Grant (TAG).  The City of North Charleston was awarded $60,724 to promote North Charleston in print advertising in such magazines as Southern Living, as well as at selected South Carolina Welcome Centers and the South Carolina Official Vacation Guide

Over the past few years, North Charleston has increased its marketing presence by creating awareness of North Charleston’s proximity to Charleston, historic sites, plantations, and beaches. As the 3rd largest City in South Carolina and the number one retail sales leader in the state, North Charleston offers affordable hotel rates, award winning restaurants and great shopping.  The primary objective of the City of North Charleston’s advertising campaign is to increase exposure of both business and recreation travelers to North Charleston.  This will have a direct result in increasing our hotel room occupancy rate.
