North Charleston Presents Valentines Dinner Theatre on February 13

The North Charleston Cultural Arts Department is set to host a special dinner theatre performance in North Charleston on Thursday, Feburary 13, with Lowcountry Love Cabaret presented by Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina. This original ensemble production offers a great night out for couples and groups. Dinner for the evening, catered by Centerplate, will be served buffet style and includes stuffed chicken breast with spicy capacola ham topped with baby swiss cheese, sun dried tomato coulis, Spanish rice pilaf, fresh broccoli, tossed salad with assorted dressings, dinner rolls, and French silk pie. Tickets are on sale until Monday, February10.

Cabaret by night, therapy group for entertainers by day. This ensemble production is a Valentine’s smorgasbord of well-loved songs, comedy, and tales of love lost and won, with a bit of Black History woven in. Audiences will enjoy renditions of Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable, as well as special hits from Billie Holiday and Marvin Gaye. Starring Robbie Madison, Evan Fondren, Anna Lisa Blevins, Zandrina Dunning, Tonya Williams, Michael Easler, and Randall Lee Jr. Directed and produced by Chris Weatherhead from the award-winning Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina.

Theatre, film, and television veterans Clarence Felder and Chris Weatherford founded Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina in 1995 with a mission to produce new works in theatre and film by South Carolinians. They are one of the only professional theatres in South Carolina to have a film division and also provide professional training to individuals in the entertainment industry. Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina has received recognition throughout the state including grants from The Gaylord & Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, The South Carolina Arts Commission, The South Carolina Humanities Council, and others. Lowcountry Love Cabaret will be presented at Montague Terrace at the North Charleston Coliseum, located at 5001 Coliseum Drive in North Charleston. Doors open at 7:00pm for dinner. Tickets are $40 per person. Group discounts are offered for parties of four or more. Ticket price includes dinner, performance, and gratuity. Parking is free. A cash-only bar will be available.
