NCPD welcomes three new victim advocates

The North Charleston Police Department would like to welcome three newly hired Victim Advocates to the Victim Assistance Unit. Joyelle Tyler, Carol Ward, and Minna Hosseini have recently joined our team to increase the number of advocates North Charleston Police Department employs to five.
The Victim Advocate program provides direct services to crime victims in the City of North Charleston. They reach out to victims informing them of their rights as a crime victim, helping them navigate through the criminal justice system, offering referrals to free counseling to help victims cope with the trauma inflicted upon them, and assist with applying through the Department of Crime Victim Compensation to help with medical bills and funeral expenses due to the crime inflicted upon them. Victim Advocate Hosseini also brings to the table the ability to communicate in both Spanish and Portuguese. If you would like to speak with an advocate, please call 843-740-2824 or 843-740-2890 (Spanish/Portuguese). We look forward to serving you.
