Today, NCPD remembers and honors two fallen heroes from our agency. On this day in 2018, Ptl. Ryan MacCluen was off-duty when his motorcycle collided with a car in Summerville, Officer MacCluen was killed in the crash. Also on this day in 2018, K-9 Mojo died in a vehicle crash. Mojo’s handler was responding to a call with emergency equipment activated when a driver tried to turn left in front of him, causing a collision. Mojo was taken to an emergency veterinary hospital where he passed away. His handler was injured. The driver who caused the crash pleaded guilty to felony DUI.
