March 24th, 2024, marked a momentous occasion for the North Charleston Police Department as they once again exemplified their unwavering commitment to excellence and community service. In a ceremony that underscored their dedication and professionalism, Sgt. Beaudoin, Lt. Niemiec, and D.C. Johnson stood proud as they accepted the prestigious Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) accreditation award on behalf of the department. This recognition is a testament to the department’s steadfast dedication and a reflection of the collective efforts of every officer and staff member associated with the department.
Since 2007, the North Charleston Police Department has been a beacon of accredited excellence, upholding the highest standards of law enforcement. The achievement and maintenance of CALEA accreditation is a rigorous process, scrutinizing every aspect of the department’s operations, from policies and procedures to management, operations, and service delivery.
