NCPD officers honored with awards for arrests

Please join our agency in congratulating 12 of our officers who were recently presented with awards.
Ptl. Benjamin Cain, Ptl. Jonathan Donnelly, Ptl. Andrew Marshall, Ptl. Jared Martin and Ptl. Michael Motto were recognized as Employees of the Month for working together to arrest a suspect charged with two counts of Attempted Murder. The victim in this incident suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. As the suspect’s information was being sent out on the radio, Ptl. Motto and Ptl. Martin realized they were out with the suspect at a motel on Northwoods Blvd. The suspect was immediately taken into custody.
Ptl. Martin, Ptl. Motto, Ptl. Derek Rodriguez, Pfc. Shane Moseley, Ptl. Asha Goodnight, Ptl. Peter Beck, Ptl. Britton McClellan, Ptl. Donnelly, and Ptl. Marshall received Certificates of Recognition for arresting several suspects accused of breaking into vehicles. The suspects fired shots at the officers and were caught after a chase. Officers recovered about ten guns that were potentially stolen and illegally possessed. In addition, a large amount of stolen merchandise was returned to victims. That same night, officers located and arrested a suspect allegedly involved in a carjacking after a lengthy foot pursuit.
MPO Michael Sanchez and Ptl. Carlton Bing received Certificates of Recognition for arresting two suspects who attempted to rob a man after he withdrew money from a bank. Officers say the suspects followed the victim to an address, opened the passenger door, and attempted to take the money. The victim pushed the suspect off. The suspect got back into his vehicle and fled. The officers were able to track the suspect’s vehicle and detained two men who were inside. Both were charged with attempted Strong Armed Robbery.
Great job by all of you!
