NCPD is celebrating Black History Month. In 1978, Officer Sam Jerideau was promoted to the rank of Uniform Sergeant, becoming the first African American officer promoted to that rank. Sgt. Jerideau would go on to become an instructor at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
