May is Building Safety Month

Annually the Building Officials Association of South Carolina (BOASC) celebrates “May as Building Safety Month,” by recognizing key objectives, including the promotion of maximum safety of life, health, and property at a minimum cost. The Building Officials of SC are working to create a better public understanding and appreciation of the building regulations and the importance of these codes to the State of South Carolina residents and property owners.

The 63rd Annual Educational Conference of the BOASC begins Sunday, May 4-7, 2014 at the Ocean Beach & Golf Resort, located at 98 N. Ocean Blvd., N. Myrtle Beach, S.C. We invite all government administrators, building officials and code enforcement officers to become a member and non-governmental individuals related to the construction industry to join the BOASC as an associate member and/or register to attend code related education offered at our conference.

About BOASC

The BOASC is a Chapter of the ICC and a member of the ICC Region 8 Chapter, consisting of building officials of SC, NC, TN, and GA. The BOASC affords a means for individuals engaged in the administration and enforcement of building and other related codes to share infor-mation, exchange ideas and discuss mutual problems. BOASC encourages and assists in effi-cient administration and enforcement of building and related codes, and vows to uphold the prestige of Municipal and County Building Officials and the Inspection profession.
