City of North Charleston offices are closed today, Thursday, September 29 and tomorrow, Friday, September 30. Emergency management personnel urge residents to prepare for the impacts of Tropical Storm Ian.

Sandbags for North Charleston residents scan still be obtained on a first come first serve basis today, Thursday, September 29 while supplies last at the following locations:
- North Charleston Athletic Center – 5600 Casper Padgett Way
- North Charleston Aquatics Center – 8610 Patriot Boulevard
Garbage collections
Charleston County residents: Roll carts and yard debris will be collected through Thursday as weather allows. No pick up on Friday.
Dorchester County residents: Roll carts and yard debris will be collected through Friday as weather allows. Recycling in the Dorchester County portions of North Charleston will not be collected on Friday.
