This morning, Chief Burgess and Chiquanna Giles and Breanna Daniels of our recruiting unit toured the Charleston Bilingual Academy in North Charleston. This is part of the chief’s initiative to recruit more Hispanic officers. The academy’s goal is to be a place where recruits’ families and officers can have their children attend school in their native language plus English, build a community with people who are intercultural and perhaps have a place for spouses to work, depending on needs. #PathForward
