Chad Graham named NCFD Employee of the Month

To become Employee of the Month in the North Charleston Fire Department, one must be nominated by a superior for exemplary work, selfless actions that directly benefit a resident’s life or the safekeeping of a business, or undertaking additional self-motivated activities to aid in the improvement of the fire department.

The following is Chief Greg Bulanow’s nomination submission for Fire Inspector Chad Graham:

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Fire Inspector Chad Graham for going above and beyond his responsibility as a Fire Inspector for the City of North Charleston.  His dedication and consideration for the residents of our community represents what is best about the North Charleston Fire Department.

Inspector Graham recently completed an annual fire inspection at the Agape Assisted Living Center on Great Oak Drive.  During the inspection, he noted that they were unable to keep the live cut Christmas tree due to fire code specifications.  The facility complied with his request by taking down the live tree to meet fire code requirements.

Upon re-inspection, Inspector Graham noted the compliance with the code, but also noted the tree had not been replaced with an artificial one. Inspector Graham took it upon himself to purchase an artificial Christmas tree for the facility with his own money.  He brought the compliant tree to the facility and assisted with decorating the tree for the enjoyment of the staff and residents.

This generous act of kindness ensured that the residents would have both a safe and happy holiday season.
