The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) presented information to the community for the proposed $14.5-million North Charleston Intermodal Transportation Facility. Plans for the location at Gaynor Avenue – site of the current Amtrak station – include a 32,000 square feet transportation hub that will provide intermodal connections between the CARTA and inter-city bus services, Amtrak trains and taxis. The site will also include long- and short-term parking, public spaces, meeting rooms, retail and restaurant opportunities and more.
