Christmas Parade & Festival

To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, the City of North Charleston will feature the following public Christmas events.

Christmas Parade and Festival

Saturday, December 3, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm around Park Circle with the Christmas Parade beginning at 5:00 pm. The Christmas Festival includes a Holiday Market with children’s activities, craft and food vendors, and live musical performances on two stages. The Christmas Parade begins at the corner of Montague and Mixson Avenues, proceeds down Montague, around Park Circle, turning right onto Buist to conclude. 

The City’s Christmas tree located outside the front entrance of the Felix C. Davis Community Center will be lit by Santa Claus during the Festival.

3:00 pm - Police will close the Park Circle traffic circle, Montague Avenue from Mixson to the traffic circle, and Mixson and Lackawanna to West Enterprise to vehicular traffic
3:00 - 4:45 pm - Children’s activities (jump castles, petting zoo, hay rides)
4:00 - 5:00 pm - Performances (indoor Auditorium stage and outdoor Amphitheater stage)
5:00 - 6:30 pm - Parade
6:30 pm - Christmas tree lighting with Santa and Mayor Summey
6:30 - 9:00 pm - Performances on all stages, children’s activities continue, food and craft vendors
9:00 pm - Roads opens to traffic

Winter Wonderland

Tuesday, November 29, from noon to 1:30 pm, Wednesday, November 30 - Friday, December 1, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm at Armory Park. This free pre-school event provides young children an opportunity to visit Santa, participate in hands-on activities, including holiday arts & crafts, and take part in live performances and music. A group photo will be provided.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 3, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Felix C. Davis Community Center. Breakfast with Santa gives area children the opportunity to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. A hearty meal is provided.

Christmas Concert

Sunday, December 11, at 7:00pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The Charleston Symphony Orchestra's brass ensemble will perform familiar holiday classics to kick off the holiday season.  Bring family and friends to share in the good cheer of the holiday!  Free admission.

Children’s Theatre

A Beatrix Potter Holiday presented by Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth

Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 10:00 am - 11:00 am  

Famous children’s author, Beatrix Potter arrives to entertain the guests at a holiday party.  Stories such as The Tailor of Gloucester and The Rabbit’s Christmas Party come to life on the stage with the help of the audience and Beatrix’s Uncle Henry.  Her most famous character, Peter Rabbit, may even surprise the guests with an appearance.  Don Gruel & Noel Holland of Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth have been touring throughout the U.S. since 1995, giving hundreds of performances for more than 70,000 audience members annually. Dinner Theatre

Charleston Victory Christmas 1945! presented by Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina

Friday, December 2, 2016, 7:00pm  

Actors' Theatre of South Carolina will transport audiences back in time to Charleston's first Christmas radio broadcast after World War II. The award-winning group invites you to be a part of their "studio audience" to share in this fun and unique celebration of freedom and joy. While the guys and gals on stage track a lost truck carrying toys for local children, an assortment of singers, musicians, and comics will entertain. It’s a heartwarming holiday production sure to get you in the spirit of the season. Cash-only bar opens at 6:30pm. Buffet menu includes roast pork loin with apple & caramelized onion sauce, garden salad, whipped potatoes, seasonal vegetable medley, dinner rolls, and decadent chocolate cake. Catered by Centerplate.

Tickets: $40 each, $36 each for a party of 4 or more.
