Dinner Theatre Series

The Cultural Arts Department hosts Dinner Theatre programs for adults, with a holiday themed presentation in December and a Valentine or Black History month presentation in February. The performances has proven to be a popular program for couples and groups. Guests are served a candlelit dinner at 7:00pm, then sit back to watch lively programs by professional performers while enjoying dessert and tea/coffee. Programs are scheduled to take place on Thursday evenings in Montague Terrace at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Children’s Theatre Series

Tri-county schools, daycares, and families are welcome to enjoy the exciting presentations in our Children’s Theatre Series, featuring touring theatre troupes, dance groups, storytellers, and more. Performances are scheduled to take place in the North Charleston Performing Arts Center Auditorium beginning at 10:00am and last for approximately one hour. The series consists of 3 performances that take place in November/December, February, and March/April.

Summer Children’s Theatre Series

A special Summer Children’s Theatre Series is presented in June and July. Performances are scheduled to take place in two locations (Northwoods Park & Recreation Center and Danny Jones Recreation Center) with two performance times (10:00am and 2:00pm) and last for approximately one hour.

Special Concerts

MLK Tribute Jr. Concert Hold Out Your Light
Lowcountry Voices, a multicultural and ethnically diverse choral performing arts organization under the dynamic direction of Nathan L. Nelson, will honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through music in Hold Out Your Light. The program will feature classical choral music, spirituals, traditional and contemporary gospel music, and dynamic guest narration by Rev. Dr. Kylon Middleton, Pastor of Mt. Zion AME Church. In addition, Lowcountry Voices will present a special Community Service Award to Charles Fox and the Fox Family for decades of supplying service to the church and community. Free tickets for the concert can be picked at the North Charleston Cultural Arts Department office at North Charleston City Hall (2500 City Hall Lane) and St. Matthew Baptist Church -OR- received via mail by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Tickets/City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department, PO Box 190016, North Charleston, SC 29419-9016 by Friday, January 5, 2018. North Charleston Farmers Market Concerts

The 2018 North Charleston Farmers Market takes place every Thursday from May 10 through October 25 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Felix C Davis Community Center, 4800 Park Circle. The market offers an abundance of fresh, locally grown produce, and features art & craft vendors, food trucks, specialty foods, kid's activities, and entertainment. Enjoy live music by groups and individuals during each market from 5:00-7:00pm.
