In 2020, the City of North Charleston adopted the PRIME North Charleston Comprehensive Plan. Nearly five years later, the time has come for the city to review the plan: updating population, housing and economic data; updating information on community facilities and infrastructure to reflect recent investments; and adding a new discussion on the City’s Resiliency.
The 5-year review is most importantly an opportunity for the city to monitor its progress towards the many goals that are adopted in PRIME North Charleston. PRIME North Charleston is a plan unique to the city, developed through an extensive public engagement process, a detailed analysis of the city’s assets, and a comprehensive review of the challenges and opportunities that the city faces. This new work will build on the effort previously completed and serve as a check-in on the goals and strategies outlined in the PRIME North Charleston plan. Citizens, community leaders, public officials, and other stakeholders will have an opportunity to express support or concerns, and provide input on the relevancy of the Plan’s current vision, guiding principles, and strategies.
At the end of this process, an addendum to PRIME North Charleston will be adopted to continue its progress towards creating a city primed with opportunity.
