Holiday Basketball Clinic
North Charleston will be hosting a free basketball clinic on Saturday, December 21st at
North Charleston and Stall High School gyms. Registration is being taken at Danny Jones, Northwoods and River Oaks gyms.
Teams will begin practice the week of December 2nd. The opening jamboree is schedule for January 4, 2014.

The North Charleston Recreation Department has a very active Adult Tennis Program. Our team tennis program offers a variety of levels of competition and is open to men and women. Matches are played against teams across the Greater Charleston area.

The North Charleston Recreation Department and "Fly Dog Fitness" have joined together to offer Adult Fitness programs in callaborative effort to make "North Charleston More Physically Fit"! Together we are offering the most unique, creative and exciting workouts ion the area. Whether you consider yourself to be in good shape or can't remember the last time you did more physical activity required at work, we can cater to your fitness level.
We are offering you the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself, raise your self-esteem, and increase your social value and influence...all while getting an invigorating workout.
Classes take place for the majority on the outside; utilizing some of North Charleston's most beautiful green spaces at Park Circle, Danny Jones Complex and Riverfront Park. Morning classes meet on M,W,F (3 days a week, 12 sessions) 6:00 am - 7:00 am. Evening classes meet Mon.-Thurs. (4 days a week, 16 sessions) 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. In addition to our 6 am and 6 pm sessions, we offer Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am and 5 pm classes. The North Charleston Afterschool program is designed to keep your child motivated and active after school while providing quality supervision and guidance.
Afterschool programs operate in 10 community centers and 12 CCSD elementary schools across the city. With student to staff ratio, we are equipped to serve 300 students for the 2013 – 2014 school year. Programs run in correlation with the Charleston County School
District 2013 – 2014 school year. When there is no school for the school district, the community centers run “Activity & Play Day” from 7:30am to 5:30pm for the children of the various communities to have a place to go while parents are at work. Programming will include recreational activities, games, arts and crafts and homework tutoring. The environment with the afterschool programs is safe, enjoyable and conducive for learning to take place. Children are well supervised and encouraged to learn and take part in team building activities and games during the program.

Haro Jun, a certified yoga instructor and participant in our Monday line dancing class is now offering “wake up” yoga from 8:30-9am on Monday mornings. Line dancers and others are invited to participate. There is no charge for the class.

Pitch, Hit and Run
This program allows young athletes to showcase their individual skills in pitching, hitting and running. Local competition is tentatively schedule during April.
