Firefighter of the Month
Each member of the North Charlston Fire Department organization, be it fire suppression, administration or fire marshal's staff fights fires and protects the lives of the citizens, visitors and those who work in North Charleston. The Firefighter of the Month diplays dedication and consistent effort to fulllfill the resposibilities assigned to him or her with a positive attitude and skill that demonstrates the best of the North Charleston Fire Department.

“Employee of the month” is a title that is given to a deserving person that shows dedication and commitment to our fire department and its employees during a short time frame. The employee that is being nominated this month is well deserving of this title for his commitment, dedication, time and support of all facets of the job for which he is assigned.
This employee has proven himself to be extremely dedicated to the success of the North Charleston Fire Department and its personnel. He consistently puts in numerous hours utilizing his personal equipment and tools performing additional cleaning and maintenance to his station as well as to stations he is assigned to on various days. He has utilized his personal equipment, tools, and money to thoroughly clean bay floors and concrete pads at various stations, build a charger shelf, and make repairs to station equipment.
This employee has maintained a positive attitude toward all aspects of the department and the City of North Charleston. He exemplifies a willingness to sacrifice his personal time, equipment, and money in order for the Department to maintain quality stations, equipment, and apparatus. His attitude, sacrifice and willingness to serve are why Firefighter Christopher Crankshaw is well deserving of January’s Employee of the Month.
