North Charleston City Gallery

The North Charleston City Gallery features two-dimensional works by international, national, and local artists in a variety of subjects and mediums. Exhibits are rotated on a monthly basis and may feature two or more artists in the gallery space each month. In addition to monthly exhibits, the gallery also hosts a collection of prints, notecards, jewelry, and gift items by local artists, which are available for sale.

Location

The gallery is located in the common areas of the Charleston Area Convention Center Complex, 5001 Coliseum Drive, North Charleston, SC 29418.  This location offers great exposure for artists seeking to reach local patrons and out-of-state visitors of this multi-use facility.  -MAP & DIRECTIONS-


Gallery Hours

The public is welcome to view exhibitions from 9:00am-5:00pm, daily. Parking and admission are free. The Gallery Desk is managed by a Cultural Arts staff member on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays for the express purpose of promoting the exhibit and the sale of artwork, prints, notecards, and gift items. 


Receptions

Artists have the option of hosting a public reception at the gallery for their exhibition. These receptions are generally held on the first Thursday of each month from 5-7pm, and are free and open to the public.



How to Exhibit Your Work

Individual artists and groups are welcome to submit an application to exhibit original works in this exciting venue.  Exhibits are programmed one year in advance according to fiscal year. Artists interested in exhibiting in the gallery for fiscal year July 2012-June 2013 should submit an application by the deadline of November 30, 2011.  Applications are available for download from the “Applications & Registration Forms” page.
