City Council Members

The City of North Charleston has a strong Mayor/Council form of government, with the Mayor who is elected at large and ten Council members elected from single member Council districts.

Elections are non-partisan, using the plurality method to determine the results. The term of office for successful candidates commences on the 1st Tuesday in December, and runs for 4 years. Regular elections are held on the Tuesday after the 1st Monday in November every 4 years, with the next election occurring in November 2011.
