Entries Sought for 10th Annual National Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition

12/16/2014: Applications are now being accepted for the 2015/15 National Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition. Up to 14 sculptures will be juried into the exhibit and compete for cash prizes totaling up to $16,250. Apply by Feb. 25, 2015.

Dates announced for next Citizens Public Safety Academy

12/5/2014: During the 10 week program citizens will get an inside look at what Police Officers, Firefighters, Code Enforcement Officers and Building Inspectors encounter on a daily basis.

Ladson Road at Palmetto Commerce Parkway Intersection Improvement Project to begin construction

12/5/2014: The project will allow more vehicles to turn left from Palmetto Commerce Parkway onto the west bound lanes of Ladson Road by adding an additional left-turn lane to create dual left-turn lanes.

2015 North Charleston Arts Festival design competition underway

11/25/2014: SC visual artists ages 18 and up are invited to submit entries for the 2015 North Charleston Arts Festival Design Competition! The winning entry will represent the annual 9-day arts & cultural event. Deadline for submissions is January 20, 2015.

Youth Soccer teams win Championship

11/24/2014: North Charleston under 10 Soccer team is victorious in the Lowcountry Soccer Championship.

North Charleston tennis team wins state championship

11/24/2014: The Collins Park Ladies 2.5 singles team captured the Lowcountry Tennis Association Championship and the South Carolina Tennis Association Singles State Championship.

Boeing Begins Final Assembly of its First 787-9 Dreamliner in North Charleston

11/24/2014: Boeing has started final assembly of the 787-9 Dreamliner at its North Charleston facility. The team began joining large fuselage sections of the newest 787 Nov. 22 on schedule, a proud milestone for the South Carolina team and another sign of stability for the program.

North Charleston City Gallery to Exhibit Works by The Mount Pleasant Artists Guild

11/21/2014: Works by members of the Mt. Pleasant Artists Guild will be on view at the North Charleston City Gallery throughout December. The artists will host a free public reception at the gallery from 5-7pm on Thursday, Dec. 4.

Cops on Doughnut Shops and Doughnut Eating Contest
