The Purchasing Department is responsible for ordering all material, supplies, and services used by the City of North Charleston.

The Purchasing Department oversees all purchases done by the City. When the cost of a purchase is expected to exceed $20,000.00, bid packages are prepared and distributed to all vendors on our vendor list.  If not already on our vendor list, you may fill out an application.

Several times each year an auction is scheduled to dispose of excess items including City vehicles, vehicles and personnel property seized through drug enforcement efforts, and excess City property. Each auction is advertised several times in the local newspapers prior to auction date.  to be on the vendor list for North Charleston.
