South Carolina Palmetto Hands Fine Craft Competition & Exhibition
The South Carolina Palmetto Hands Fine Craft Exhibition features over one hundred juried works from the state's top fine craft artisans. This unique exhibition offers fine craft artists the opportunity to exhibit their inspiring objects in the media of clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, and three-dimensional mixed media. The competition and exhibition is organized and presented by the North Charleston Cultural Arts Department with assistance from the South Carolina Artisans Center. The exhibition will be on display and available for purchase at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center and Charleston Area Convention Center May 2–May 10, 2008.
Hours: Sat., May 3 10am-4pm, Sun., May 4 2pm-5pm, Mon.-Fri. May 5–May 9 9am-5pm, Sat., May 10 9am-12pm. 
The South Carolina Palmetto Hands Traveling Exhibit consists of over twenty works selected from the exhibition's touring submissions. This show tours the state through the South Carolina State Museum’s 2008/2009 Traveling Exhibitions Program thus providing additional exposure for the selected artists. About the JUROR
Kellie Scott is the owner of Red Sky Gallery in Charlotte, NC, one of the best contemporary craft galleries in the southeast. A former board member of the Founders Circle of the Mint Museum of Craft and Design, Kellie has judged multiple local juried art shows and was the judge for the 2006 American Craft Council show in Charlotte. She supports venues that foster the recognition of emerging artists as well as the recognized masters.
