ABOUT THE ARTIST
I was born, raised and schooled in Minnesota. We raised two sons there until they left the "nest", went to college, and both settled in South Carolina. We retired in 2000, and moved here to be closer to our sons and five grandchildren. After living in Minnesota for 55 years, it was a drastic change in my life, not only for the climate, but also the cultures and subject matter for my paintings.
I began painting in oils, but soon after taking a watercolor class in 1976, I was "hooked". Maybe it was the challenge to make the painting work, or just the inspiration and reward when one was successfully completed. I've had several solo exhibits including one at the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, MN. I have won several logo competitions with my designs, and my drawings have been illustrated in three books. Most of my paintings were commissioned and have been placed in many homes and businesses, both here and abroad. Most recently, I've only been painting enough to enter local exhibits, including the North Charleston Arts Festival. I was honored to have my painting represent this Festival and its arts. |
