Keep North Charleston Beautiful was established in 2000 with the mission to enhance the beauty and image of the City of North Charleston through hands-on beautification events and programs. KNCB supports litter reduction efforts through education and by supporting community cleanups. We have been very successful over the past nine years with programs such as Clean Cities Sweep, Flowerscape, community plantings and cleanups, and educational programs.

We would like to ask for your support to help us continue and expand our programs. With your support we can continue to make North Charleston a more beautiful place to live and visit. We realize that times are difficult right now, but there are many different ways in which you can support Keep North Charleston Beautiful that involve limited or no funding.

You can support Keep North Charleston Beautiful by:

• Becoming a Flowerscape sponsor and maintaining a Flowerscape planting in a public area of North Charleston
• Becoming a recycling partner in the Electronic Recycling Program, at no cost to you.
• Purchasing a license plate.
• Making a financial contribution.
• Making an in-kind donation (such as food and beverages, gift cards, gloves, etc.)
• Volunteering with Keep North Charleston Beautiful (office work, publicity, event participation, giving a beautification- related presentation at KNCB meeting, etc.)

Your support is very important to the success of our program. In 2008, Keep North Charleston Beautiful engaged 2,177 volunteers who planted 839 flowers and trees. We provided over 50 groups with supplies, funding and/or technical assistance for their beautification projects. We partnered with The Council of Garden Clubs of Greater Charleston to read the Wartville Wizard (an anti-litter book) at thirteen North Charleston schools to 1,476 North Charleston students.

This is an opportunity for you to support a program that is impacting current and future generations. By planting a tree, or teaching children about the importance of taking care of their community you are making a difference that will last a lifetime.
