Fall Sports Registration
Registration for our Youth Cheerleading, Tackle Football, Flag Football, Soccer, Fall Baseball and Fall Softball will be taken the month of July. Registration will be taken at Armory Park, Park Circle Community Center, Perry-Webb Community Center, Jeanene Batten Community Center, Northwoods Park, Gethsemani Community Center, Wescott Park and City Hall Recreation offices.

The City of North Charleston Recreation Department’s Summer Camp will conclude on August 5. Summer camp takes place at 19 locations all across the City with over 800 children ages 5 to 12 participating. Campers will attend field trips to the pool, Whirlin’ Waters, Chuck E Cheese and much more. This year’s theme is Under the Sea. Children will learn about animals that live under the sea. Afterschool Registration will begin July 1 and continue until all afterschool community center sites are full to capacity. The North Charleston afterschool program is designed to keep your child motivated and active afterschool while providing quality supervision and guidance. We focus on academic enrichment and recreational activities designed to teach your child valuable leadership and life skills they can use in their everyday decision making processes. Commitment, responsibility, socialization, creativity and physical activity are key components of the program which ensures that children are on track to become productive citizens of society. The cost is $1 per day for City of North Charleston residents to swim at any of our 4 locations. Summer passes are also available at the Armory for $30 individual-resident/$50 family-resident.

North Charleston Swim Club
North Charleston Recreation Department is very excited to have a swim team available incorporated into our already popular athletic programs for children. If you are interested in joining the team, stop by practice at 4:00pm any weekday at the Danny Jones pool.

Individual and Family Pool Passes
All pools are now open for the summer. The winter/spring pool pass is now available for purchase at the Armory. For residents the cost is 30.00 individual/50.00 family. This pass gives you unlimited access to Danny Jones during open swim until June.
Baseball and Softball
All-Star tournaments will continue to be played in the month of July. Our 13-14 baseball team will begin District tournament play July 5 at St. Andrews. Our Pepperhill/Wescott Machine Pitch team will begin State tournament play July 9 in Florence, SC. Our 9-10 Pepperhill/Wescott team will begin State tournament play July 16 in Union, SC. Our 15u baseball team will begin State tournament play on July 9 in Liberty, SC.
This year we will be hosting the 15-16 and 17-19 year old State tournaments starting July 16 at Collins Park and Fort Dorchester High School.
The 2016 Summer Basketball teams will continue to playing teams through out the Lowcountry from other recreation departments. The games are played at Danny Jones, Ferndale, Northwoods and River Oaks gyms.
Middle School Athletics
Registration for this year’s summer Volleyball Camp is May 23 - July 08, 2016. Camp will be held at River Oaks Middle School Gym on July 18-22 from 9am - 12pm. The cost for the camp is $50.00 per child and $40.00 for any additional siblings. The Senior Softball fall league player registration ins ongoing through August 10. Games will begin on August 15. Games are played on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:45pm.
Tuesday Morning League
The Tuesday morning Senior League is taking player registrations through August 10. This league plays each Tuesday morning at MeadWestvaco-Kapstone Park. All games start at 9:15am.
All of the men are 50 – 80 years of age are eligible to participate. Interested players can e-mail email@example.com.
The spring season for Co-Ed Adult Kickball will conclude in July. The summer season will begin mid-August. Kickball sees competitive play on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Games are played at MeadWestvaco-Kapstone Park.
The spring season for Adult Co-Ed Flag Football will end in July. The summer season will begin in mid-August with games played at MeadWestvaco-Kapstone Park. Games are played on Monday nights on the football field.
Co-Ed 4 v. 4 Basketball
The winter season for Adult Co-Ed 4 v. 4 Basketball continues play. Games are played at Danny Jones Gym and Ferndale Gym. Games are played on Wednesday nights. This league will conclude in June.
The winter season for Adult Co-Ed Volleyball continues. Games are played at Ferndale Gym. Games are played on Monday nights. This league will conclude in June.
The spring season for Adult Co-Ed Softball finishe sin July. The summer season will begin mid August. Games begin every Sunday at 10am. The summer league site is yet to be determined.

The North Charleston Recreation Department has a very active Adult Tennis Program. Our team tennis program offers a variety of levels of competition and is open to men and women. Matches are played against teams across the Greater Charleston area.
The North Charleston Recreation Department offers Tennis Lessons and Clinics at the Collins Park Tennis Center on the Collins Park Complex (4115 Fellowship Road off Dorchester Road). Fees vary depending on type of lesson or clinic (group or private), Lesson Packages are available. Lessons are available for Adults and Children. Park Circle Disc Golf Course... "Where players matter!"
Disc Golf is played on the outer 8 islands around Park Circle Monday – Sunday from dusk to dawn, continuously. Tuesday night doubles are played beginning at 6:00 pm. Registration takes place at the #1 tee box at 5:00 pm. For more information on Disc Golf, call (843) 740-5801 or (843) 745-1028.
Fly Dog Fitness
The North Charleston Recreation Department and "Fly Dog Fitness" have joined together to offer Adult Fitness programs in collaborative effort to make "North Charleston More Physically Fit"! Together we are offering the most unique, creative and exciting workouts in the area. Whether you consider yourself to be in good shape or can't remember the last time you did more physical activity required at work, we can cater to your fitness level.
We are offering you the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself, raise your self-esteem, and increase your social value and influence...all while getting an invigorating workout.
Classes take place for the majority on the outside; utilizing some of North Charleston's most beautiful green spaces at Park Circle, Danny Jones Complex and Riverfront Park. Morning classes meet on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:30am - 6:30am; Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 6:00am - 7:00am. Evening class meets Tuesdays from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. All levels are welcome! Join us as we "Walk the Circle" at our leisure! Log your laps inside the community center at the receptionist desk and become eligible for Incentive Prizes for walking milestones. Senior Water Aerobics
Registration for Senior Water Aerobics . Registrations are accepted at Armory Park or Park Circle. The cost is $20 a month.

Pitch, Hit and Run
This program allows young athletes to showcase their individual skills in pitching, hitting and running. Local competition is tentatively schedule during April. All around winners will advance to a sectional competition. Participants must play in local league. Ages 7-8 years; Ages 9-10 years; Ages 11-12 years; Ages 13-14 years.
