Harvest Festival will be October 17, 2015 from 3pm - 7pm, East Montague Ave. The kid's zone will be open 3pm - 5pm. There will be fun games, face painting and inflatables in the kid's zone. Come dressed in your costume and participate in the costume contest! Fun for the entire family!
Happening In September 2015
Afterschool Registration has started and will resume until all afterschool community center sites are full to capacity. Academic enrichment and recreational activities are being offered during the 2015-2016 afterschool program year. New this year for all afterschool sites is the supper program offered by the Lowcountry Food Bank; beginning Monday September 14.

High School Swimming
The high school swim teams have kicked off their fall. The Danny Jones pool is once again be the main training facility for all the athletes on Academic Magnet and Stall.
Outdoor Pool Facilities
Outdoor pools at Collins Park, Felix Pinckney, and Northwoods Park will close for the winter season on September 7. Outdoor Pools will re-open Memorial Day Weekend 2016.
North Charleston Swim Team
Starting in September we will be offering a USA Swimming team for our residents with the focus on children 8-12 years old. Children should have basic swimming knowledge and be interested in going to 1 swim meet a month. Practices will be offered at the Danny Jones pool during the week after school. The cost is $190 for the entire year (10 months). This includes the $85 USA/SC Swimming fee. For more information please contact Doug Fetchen at email@example.com
Fall Sports and Jamborees
Fall sport practices began the week of August 24, 2015. Currently, we have over 1100 kids between the ages of 4-17 participating in either football, cheerleading, soccer, baseball or softball. The Fall Baseball Season begins the week of September 14. The Football Jamboree will be held on September 19 at the old Stall High School football stadium located on the Northwoods Middle School campus. September 26 marks the date for our annual Soccer Jamboree to be held on the soccer fields at River Oaks Middle School.
Middle School Athletics
The Middle School Football Season will start on Wednesday, September 23 at North Charleston High School Football Stadium. Middle School Football Games will be played on Wednesdays at 5:30p.m. and 7:00p.m.
The Middle School Volleyball League will play their games Mondays through Thursdays througout the season.

The Adult Kickball continues the summer season in at MeadWestvaco Kapstone Park. Games are played on Wednesday and Thursday evenings beginning at 6:40pm.
Adult Co-Ed Flag Football
The Adult Co-Ed Flag Football continues the summer season and is in action each Monday night at Doc Hursey Field or Pepperhill Park. Games begin at 6:30pm on the football field.
Adult Co-Ed Softball summer season is underway each Sunday beginning at 10:00am at Murray Hill Fieldon the Danny Jones Complex.
Men's Senior Softball
The North Charleston Recreation Department is offering Men's Senior Softball in the Fall. Men must be 50+ years of age. Adult Dodgeball will pick up mid-season with a facility change. Dodgeball will be played on Wednesdays at the Danny Jones Roller Hockey Court. Games start at 6:45pm

Adult Co-Ed Basketball will pick up mid-season with a facility change. Co-Ed Basketball will be played on Wednesdays at the Danny Jones Gym and the Ferndale Gym. Games start at 7:00pm
Adult Co-Ed Volleyball
Adult Co-Ed Volleyball will pick up mid-season with a facility change. Co-Ed Volleyball will be played on Mondays at the Northwoods Park Gymnasium and the Ferndale Gymnasium at the Danny Jones Gym and the Ferndale Gym. Games start at 7:00pm.
The North Charleston Recreation Department has a very active Adult Tennis Program. Our team tennis program offers a variety of levels of competition and is open to men and women. Matches are played against teams across the Greater Charleston area.
The North Charleston Recreation Department offers Tennis Lessons and Clinics at the Collins Park Tennis Center on the Collins Park Complex (4115 Fellowship Road off Dorchester Road). Fees vary depending on type of lesson or clinic (group or private), Lesson Packages are available. Lessons are available for Adults and Children. Fly Dog Fitness
The North Charleston Recreation Department and "Fly Dog Fitness" have joined together to offer Adult Fitness programs in collaborative effort to make "North Charleston More Physically Fit"! Together we are offering the most unique, creative and exciting workouts in the area. Whether you consider yourself to be in good shape or can't remember the last time you did more physical activity required at work, we can cater to your fitness level.
We are offering you the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself, raise your self-esteem, and increase your social value and influence...all while getting an invigorating workout.
Classes take place for the majority on the outside; utilizing some of North Charleston's most beautiful green spaces at Park Circle, Danny Jones Complex and Riverfront Park. Morning classes meet on M,W,F (3 days a week, 12 sessions) 6:00 am - 7:00 am. Evening classes meet Mon.-Thurs. (4 days a week, 16 sessions) 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. In addition to our 6am and 6pm sessions, we offer Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am and 5 pm classes. Activity and Play Days
Activity and play days will be Monday August 10th to Friday August 14th held at Northwoods Park, Persephone Moultrie, Highland Terrace, Russelldale, Ferndale, Whipper Barony, Felix Pinckney, Gethsemani, Murray Hill, and Miner Crosby. Sites will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. The cost of registration is $7 Resident / $12 Non-Resident per child each day.
Payment must be in the form of a money order. Participants must bring ready to eat lunch each day. Sites are accepting registrations until sites are full. Late fees apply in reference to late pick-up.

We are pleased to announce that we are adding Charleston Farms to the program giving us a total of 13 sites hosting the afterschool program. Pitch, Hit and Run
This program allows young athletes to showcase their individual skills in pitching, hitting and running. Local competition is tentatively schedule during April. All around winners will advance to a sectional competition. Participants must play in local league. Ages 7-8 years; Ages 9-10 years; Ages 11-12 years; Ages 13-14 years.
