The North Charleston Farmer's Market is open each Thursday from 12pm -7pm at Park Circle.  Come visit and take advantage of great prices on local produce as well as crafts and other homemade items.

2015 Fall Sports Parents Letter

Fall Sports Registration will begin July 1, 2015. Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Cheerleading, tackle & Flag Football will all be offered during the Fall.  New this year is Flag Football for ages 7-17.


Summer Camp

Summer Camp continues with hundreds of children enjoying daily activities including arts and crafts physical and social recreation.  Field trips are always a huge hit during Summer Camp.  This year children will visit the water park, go to the movies, visit the Fire Museum, and go on the Yorktown.


NOTE: The Women's Locker Room will be closed for maintenance from 9am - 1pm, Friday, July 24.

Summer Pool Pass

The summer pool pass is now available for purchase at the Armory.  For residents the cost is $30 individual/$50 family.  The cost for non-residents is double.  This pass gives you unlimited access to Danny Jones during open swim from January 1 – Memorial Day weekend.

Summer swim lesson registration continues. The cost is $30 residents/$60 non-residents.  All Mom & Tot classes are full.  Lessons are offered at Danny Jones, Felix Pinckney and Northwoods Park. Swimming lesson spots are filling fast! Do not DELAY, register today!

The cost is $1 per day for City of North Charleston residents to swim at any of our 4 locations.  Summer passes are also available at the Armory for $30 individual-resident/$50 family-resident.

North Charleston Swim Team

The North Charleston kids swim team has begun!  We are offering practice for home school children Monday -Thursday from 10am -11am.  An additional practice is offered 3:30pm -4:15pm Monday & Thursday Children should be at least 8 years old and able to swim the length of the pool. Water Aerobics

Water Aerobics continues to be a big hit with our seniors with some classes growing to nearly 40 in attendance.  The cost is $20 per month and is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9am and 6pm if you would like to join. For more information, call (843) 745-1028.

Youth Athletics 


Baseball and Softball

The City of North Charleston will be the host for the 9/10 Dixie Boys All-Star Tournament to be held at Wescott Park beginning July 6th. Our 11/12 Boys All-Star teams will be competing in Moncks Corner.

Summer Basketball

The 2015 Summer Basketball will tip off the second week of June.  Our teams will be playing teams through out the Lowcountry from other recreation departments at Ferndale, Sterett Hall, Northwoods and River Oaks gyms.

Middle School Athletics

Volleyball Camp Registration

Middle School Volleyball Camp Registration will be held May 12 - July 10.  The camp will be held at River Oaks Middle School July 20-24.  Registration sites are Wescott Park (M-F, 8:30am  - 4pm), City Hall(M-F, 8:30am - 4pm) and Park Circle (M -F 8:30am - 8:00pm).  Registration is $50.00 for the first child and $40.00 for each sibling.

Adult Sports

Adult Kickball

The Adult Kickball will begin the summer season in mid-July at MeadWestvaco Kapstone Park. Games are played on Wednesday and Thursday evenings beginning at 6:40pm.

Adult Co-Ed Flag Football

The Adult Co-Ed Flag Football will begin the summer season in mid-July and will be in action each Monday night at MeadWestvaco-Kapstone Park.  Games begin at 6:30pm on the football field.

Adult Softball

Adult Co-Ed Softball will begin the summer season in mid-July each Sunday beginning at 10:00am at Lent's Field on the Danny Jones Complex.

Men's Senior Softball

The North Charleston Recreation Department is offering Men's Senior Softball in the Fall.  Men must be 50+ years of age.  Games will begin August 17 and will be played Monday-Wednesday evenings at MeadWestvaco-Kapstone Park.  For more information, contact Jim Butler at 843-557-8092 or Cindy Dambaugh at 843-740-5801.

Adult Tennis

The North Charleston Recreation Department has a very active Adult Tennis Program. Our team tennis program offers a variety of levels of competition and is open to men and women. Matches are played against teams across the Greater Charleston area.

Tennis Clinics/Lessons

The North Charleston Recreation Department offers Tennis Lessons and Clinics at the Collins Park Tennis Center on the Collins Park Complex (4115 Fellowship Road off Dorchester Road). Fees vary depending on type of lesson or clinic (group or private), Lesson Packages are available.  Lessons are available for Adults and Children. Disc Golf

Disc Golf is played on the outer 8 islands around Park Circle Monday – Sunday from dusk to dawn, continuously.  Tuesday night doubles are played beginning at 6:00 pm.  Registration takes place at the #1 tee box at 5:00 pm.  For more information on Disc Golf, call (843) 740-5801 or (843) 745-1028.

Fly Dog Fitness

The North Charleston Recreation Department and "Fly Dog Fitness" have joined together to offer Adult Fitness programs in collaborative effort to make "North Charleston More Physically Fit"!  Together we are offering the most unique, creative and exciting workouts in the area.  Whether you consider yourself to be in good shape or can't remember the last time you did more physical activity required at work, we can cater to your fitness level.

We are offering you the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself, raise your self-esteem, and increase your social value and influence...all while getting an invigorating workout.

Classes take place for the majority on the outside; utilizing some of North Charleston's most beautiful green spaces at Park Circle, Danny Jones Complex and Riverfront Park. Morning classes meet on M,W,F (3 days a week, 12 sessions) 6:00 am - 7:00 am.  Evening classes meet Mon.-Thurs. Pickleball 101

All Seniors are invited to come out and play the new and exciting game of PICKLEBALL, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm at the Danny Jones Complex.

"Senior Sneakers"

Join us as we "Walk the Circle" at our leisure!  Log your laps inside the community center at the receptionist desk and become eligible for Incentive Prizes for walking milestones.  Registration is required for this FREE program.  Men and women 50+ years of age are eligible to take part.  registration is continuous!

Senior Water Aerobics

Registration for Senior Water Aerobics .  Registrations are accepted at Armory Park or Park Circle. The cost is $20 a month.

Self Defense

A Self-Defense class is now being held at the Felix C. Davis Community Center on Park Circle each Thursday afternoon beginning at 5:30 p.m.  For more information, contact Belinda swindler at (843) 745-1028.

ZUMBA Classes at Park Circle

Kelli offers a Tuesday and Thursday evening class at 5:30 pm-6:30 pm.  Cost is $5 per class.  For more information, call Belinda Swindler at (843) 745-1028.

ZUMBA Gold at Thomas M. Evans, Sr. Communtiy Center

This class is designed for Seniors and is held on Tuesday mornings.  For more information call, 760-4289.

Senior Line Dancing (class registration is continuous)

Each Monday morning at Felix C. Davis Community Center on Park Circle.  Class time is 9:30 am - 11:00 am.  Classes in December will be held at Armory Park due to Christmas Festivities at Park Circle.


This very low impact senior exercise class meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Felix C. Davis Community Center on Park Circle.  Class time is 10:00 am - 11:00 am.

Annual Events


Pitch, Hit and Run

This program allows young athletes to showcase their individual skills in pitching, hitting and running. Local competition is tentatively schedule during April. All around winners will advance to a sectional competition. Participants must play in local league.
