North Charleston hosts a murder mystery with manners on November 7

10/21/2014

The North Charleston Cultural Arts Department is set to host another dinner theatre performance in North Charleston on Friday, November 7, with Church Street Daughters of the Late Unpleasantness Garden, Gun & Gin Club: A Murder Mystery with Manners presented by The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre. The interactive program offers a great night out for couples and groups and is recommended for fans of farce - with Charleston style. Dinner for the evening is catered by Embassy Suites and includes an entrée of pan-fried buttermilk chicken with sweet onion and tasso velouté. Tickets are on sale until Tuesday, November 4.

Written by Darryl Wade, this production is Black Fedora’s sixth original comedy mystery. The Church Street Daughters of the Late Unpleasantness have held their monthly Garden, Gun & Gin Club since back when such “decent ladies” knew their place in society; before miniskirts, meter maids, and men wearing shorts ruined everything. But now, the ladies must band together to overcome the greatest pestilence to invade their hallowed hardwood halls since General Sherman and the palmetto bug. For today marks the first time the Club has ever opened the floor to men…and murder. Featuring professional actors with volunteer audience roles, the production is sure to offer a night full of riotous laughter.

The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre opened in Charleston in the late summer of 2012. Owners/producers, Darryl & Sherry Wade, relocated to the Holy City from Atlanta, Georgia, with nearly two decades of knowhow in the business of producing live, comic-mystery entertainment for corporate, college, and general public audiences. Highly ranked on Trip Advisor’s list of Charleston attractions, Black Fedora have established themselves as the go-to resource for family-friendly live theatre in a cozy setting. Their comedy-mystery shows are presented year-round at The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre and Shoppe at 164 King Street in downtown Charleston, with professional actors, volunteer audience participation and a la carte appetizers, desserts, and drinks.
