The 2014 Clean Cities Sweep is happening right now!  More than 50 schools, neighborhoods, and community groups in North Charleston and Charleston are participating in cleanup and beautification activities throughout the two cities.

Clean Cities Sweep is an annual award-winning partnership between Keep North Charleston Beautiful and Keep Charleston Beautiful.

Included below are three of the many projects being completed during the 2014 Clean Cities Sweep.  Each of these projects will take place this Saturday, April 12.  Please contact the project coordinator for specific details about meeting place and time.

CHICORA CHEROKEE NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUP & PLANTING The Chicora Neighborhood council will host a beautification and cleanup project beginning at 9am on April 12.  They will do a litter pickup from Burton Lane to McMillan and between North Carolina and Rivers Avenue.  They will beautify three small areas in the neighborhood: a 6’x25’ space on the corner of Reynolds and Troy, a 15’x30’ space on the corner of Leland and Chicora Ave, and a 3’x18’ space at the Gussie Green Community Center.  They will host a volunteer lunch at the Chicora Place Community Garden (3107 North Carolina Ave) at 12:30pm.
