North Charleston City Gallery to Exhibit Works by The Goose Creek Artists Guild

1/21/2015: The North Charleston City Gallery will feature works by members of the Goose Creek Artists Guild throughout the month of February. A free reception will be held at the gallery on Thursday, February 5, from 5:00-7:00pm.

1/12/2015: Fine craft artists from across the state are invited to participate in the fourteenth annual South Carolina Palmetto Hands Juried Fine Craft Competition and Exhibition. North Charleston to Host Free Concert by USAF Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble

1/9/2015: The United States Air Force Heritage of America Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble will offer a FREE evening concert at the Sterett Hall Auditorium on the former Charleston Naval Base on Monday, February 9, at 7:00pm. Tickets available at the Cultural Arts office on the 2nd floor of North Charleston City Hall or by mail-in request.

Annual MLK Jr. Tribute Concert Set for January 17 in North Charleston

12/23/2014: The CSO Gospel Choir and CSO Spiritual Ensemble, under the guest direction of Jason Ikeem Rodgers, will bring MLK Jr.'s legacy to life through music, imagery and narration on Saturday, January 17, 2015, with a matinée at 3:00pm and evening performance at 7:00pm at Cathedral of Praise in North Charleston. FREE entry tickets (four per request) available in person at Cultural Arts Department Office at North Charleston City Hall and Charleston County Public Library (downtown Charleston) and Cathedral of Praise.

North Charleston City Gallery to Exhibit Works by Alexandra Roberts and Carl Gombert

12/19/2014: The North Charleston City Gallery will feature mixed media works by the City's current artist-in-residence, Alexandra Roberts, as well as works of ink on paper by Maryville, TN, artist Carl Gombert throughout January. Roberts will host a free public reception at the gallery on Thursday, Jan. 8, from 5-7pm.

12/16/2014: Applications are now being accepted for the 2015/15 National Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition. Up to 14 sculptures will be juried into the exhibit and compete for cash prizes totaling up to $16,250. Apply by Feb. 25, 2015.

Dates announced for next Citizens Public Safety Academy

12/5/2014: During the 10 week program citizens will get an inside look at what Police Officers, Firefighters, Code Enforcement Officers and Building Inspectors encounter on a daily basis.

Ladson Road at Palmetto Commerce Parkway Intersection Improvement Project to begin construction

12/5/2014: The project will allow more vehicles to turn left from Palmetto Commerce Parkway onto the west bound lanes of Ladson Road by adding an additional left-turn lane to create dual left-turn lanes.

2015 North Charleston Arts Festival design competition underway

11/25/2014: SC visual artists ages 18 and up are invited to submit entries for the 2015 North Charleston Arts Festival Design Competition! The winning entry will represent the annual 9-day arts & cultural event. Deadline for submissions is January 20, 2015.
