Who is required to buy a business license?
Every person engaged or intending to engage in any calling, business, occupation or profession in whole or in part, within the corporate limits of the City of North Charleston is required to purchase a license. In accordance with the City of North Charleston Business License Ordinance.

Can I apply for, or purchase a new business license online?
No. No business license shall be issued until the applicant first submits documents necessary to establish compliance with City Zoning Ordinance, Building Code, Fire Code and other regulatory Codes.

Where can I renew my business license?
4045 Bridgeview Dr, North Charleston, SC 29405 or 4900 LaCross Road, North Charleston, SC 29406, and online at www.charlestoncounty.org - click on Departments.

How can I renew my business license?
You may pay by Check, Cash, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express at 4900 LaCross Rd, North Charleston, SC 29406 or by Check or Cash at 4045 Bridgeview Dr., North Charleston, SC 29405.

How do I receive my license if I pay online?
After your payment has been processed, about two or three days, your license will be forwarded to the mailing address indicated on your account.

Accounts Payable

When will my invoice be paid?
Payment is due net 30 days from the date on the invoice.
